Frequently Asked Questions...
Why are you called HMV?
It was the surnames of all the three original members of the band Holloway, Mann and Vallings.
When I book you, what do I get?
Well that depends on what you're booking us for so we'll split it down into a few categories:
For my party: Arrival at 7:00, backing music before, inbetween and after 2 x 60 minute sets with a finish time of 12:00
For my wedding/function: Arrival at 6:00, backing music before, inbetween and after 2 x 60 minute sets with a finish time of 12:00
Later finishes, earlier arrivals and full DJ services are available at an extra cost. For further details of additional extras email us at email@example.com
How much do you cost?
We tailor all our packages to suit your requirements as not every night is the same, nor would you or we want it to be. Cost will depend largely on the length of time we will be required at the venue, the length of performance required and the distance to the venue. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact us through the page above and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
Who provides the music between and after performances?
It entirely up to you to be honest. Some people prefer to have complete control and pick all their own music, in which case we will provide you with a means to play that through during the performance hours. Alternatively we can provide all the music or we'll happily work alongside a DJ of your choosing, which ever suits you!
Do you provide a PA or will we need to sort this out with the venue?
We have a PA large enough to handle pretty much any event up to around 500 people. We also have a smaller rig for more intimate, low key settings.
Do you provide your own lighting?
Yes we do so there's nothing further for you to provide.
The venue has asked if you have Public Liability Insurance and a PAT Certificate. Can we have copies?
Not a problem. We have £10,000,000.00 of Public Liability cover through the Musicians Union and our equipment is PAT tested annually. PDF certificates are available for both on request.
We would like you to play our first dance. but it doesn't appear on your song list. Can you learn it?
No problem! All we ask is that you give us at least 4 weeks notice and we'll be able to learn it in time. No one has caught us out yet and it doesn't just have to be your first dance. If something's not on the list and you'd particularly like us to play it, not a problem, we love learning new songs!
Do I need to send a deposit?
All payment arrangements are detailed within our contract which you will receive when you confirm your booking.
I have a question and it doesn't appear on here?
